HD DVD Recorders

Sound and picture recording quality is uniformly excellent – as you’d expect. Receive peerless High Definition pictures through your HDMI cable and record; then playback same quality recordings as and when you want.

Your choice of recording format isn’t limited either. Current HD DVD recorders offer the flexibility of recording to HD DVD discs, as well as DVD-RAM and rewritable discs. And because it comprises an internal hard drive (just like your PC) HD DVD recorders allow you to record straight onto the internal disc too. Then you can edit the broadcast to remove commercials, credits (or just because you want to create your own ‘consumer’s cut’ of favourite films)! When you’re finished editing just transfer the material to a disc – and you’re done.

HD DVD discs store just under four hours of material (at the time of writing anyway)! You can expect that to change as the format takes off (and takes over) in the next few years. Blu-ray DVD recorders will offer the same sort of quality and convenience as HD DVD players and are trickling onto the market now in Japan.
